Un solo inedito di Dave Stewart in coda al brano Any Guru - che in origine non lo prevedeva - tratto da un concerto del 2009 a Tokyo assieme a Barbara Gaskin e Andy Reynolds. Con gli auguri di mezza estate!
Midsummer greetings from a sunny West Country! To celebrate the hot weather we thought we'd share a blazing keyboard solo with you. Dave explains: "While sorting through piles of musical media accumulated over many years, we recently stumbled upon some concert footage we thought might be of interest. When playing live we often extend the instrumental sections of songs to create space for improvisation and solos, and this Japanese video contains a good example - at the end of the song Any Guru (a track from our album Green and Blue) I play a solo over the instrumental playout. There's no solo on the album version of Any Guru, but that night I thought I'd give it a go. Faced with the options of playing a tasteful, melodic solo with an easy-on-the-ear keyboard patch or dialling up a massively distorted synth sound and going completely bonkers, I chose the latter - the red mist was definitely descending!"
