R. Stevie Moore is an underground legend. An incredibly prolific and creative songwriter and musician, Moore has self-released over 400 albums since his classic debut Phonography, from 1976. Stylistically all over the map, Moore likens his approach to “free-form radio” and is equally adept at McCartneyesque pop, Rundgrenish rock, Roger Millery country, and everything in between. A huge influence on low-fi musicians such a Ariel Pink, Moore remains something of a mysterious character, holed up in Bloomfield, New Jersey, the “curator of his own museum”, according to his website.

E' Nato! Tornano disponibili, in un nuovo formato e con nuove illustrazioni, due classici titoli dell'etichetta, tratti dalla trilogia indiana di Tony Hymas: Oyaté e Left for Dead.
Oyaté, enregistré en 1988, fait le portrait de 12 grands résistants des guerres indiennes de la seconde partie du XIXème siècle. Chaque plage de ce projet, décrit comme "le plus fou de l'année" par le journal Libération, est une collaboration entre Tony Hymas et un ou plusieurs artistes amérindiens: John Trudell, Carlos Nakaï, Barney Bush, le regretté Floyd Westerman, Paul Ortega, Joanne Shenandoah, Tom Bee, Jim Pepper ou un groupe de chanteurs de la réserve de Standing Rock et parmi les solistes: Jeff Beck, Mike Cooper, Stuart Elliott, Ray Russel, Alan Hacker, Tony Coe, Stan Sulzmann.
Left for Dead est le second double album (après un titre dans Oyaté) réalisé par le tandem Tony Hymas-Barney Bush. Barney Bush, poète Shawnee, enseignant, ex membre de l'AIM est une voix forte du monde indien contemporain. L'ensemble réunit les chanteurs, flûtistes et joueurs de tambours Edmond Tate Navaquaya et Merle Tendoy, la chanteuse Navajo Geraldine Barney ainsi qu' Evan Parker, Jean-François Pauvros et Jonathan Kane. L'association des huit artistes offre une plongée loin des stéréotypes dans le monde indien actuel et ses rapports avec le reste du monde.
Les deux disques sont présentés en format long box avec des illustrations de Moebius, Boucq, Joe Geschick, Topor, Johan de Moor, Siné etc.

Sophia Domancich fête la sortie de son nouvel album "Snakes and Ladders", du nom d'un jeu de société d'origine indienne, également connu sous le nom de Moskcha-Patamu, jeu des vertus et des démons. Quello di ieri alla Union Chapel londinese era il concerto di debutto e qualche imperfezione la si può perdonare, ma The Unthanks hanno dimostrato di saper reggere egregiamente l'onere di un intero set di canzoni di Robert Wyatt, ben oltre la sola - splendida - Sea Song già da anni nel loro repertorio. Arrangiamenti a cura del pianista Adrian McNally, sobri e pertinenti, per pianoforte, quartetto d'archi, un'accorta sezione ritmica, tromba, organetto ukulele e fisarmonica in qualche episodio, l'immancabile danza degli zoccoli (Dondestan), e su tutto le voci inconfondibili delle due sorelle Unthank, in grado di affrontare con profondità e rispetto anche le scelte più impegnative: Lisp Service, Lullaby for Hamza, Out of the Blue, Cuckoo Madame. Di pari intensità, pur con minore varietà stilistica, era infusa anche la prima parte della serata, occupata dalla rilettura di alcune canzoni di Antony and The Johnsons.
Il concerto, replicato stasera sempre alla Union Chapel, darà vita in futuro a un album dal vivo, forse; il prossimo album di studio del gruppo ha invece data e titolo certi: Last, pronto a febbraio 2011.
