Con la guida di file audio e pdf si può ora tentare di cimentarsi personalmente con il sublime canzoniere affidato da Mike e Kate Westbrook alla Band of Bands. Alcuni brani, in una speciale versione per soli canto e pianoforte, sono già disponibili (Yellow Dog, My Lover’s Coat e My Pale Parasol), a breve lo saranno anche Doll's House, Gas Dust Stone e What I Like: Play & Sing The Band of Bands Songs.
The song writing partnership of composer Mike Westbrook and vocalist/librettist Kate Westbrook began in the 1970s with their award-winning jazz cabaret Mama Chicago. Band Of Bands is the latest in a long succession of song cycles, music/theatre shows, concert works and settings of European poetry, as in The Cortege and the Westbrook Blake. They have written for stage and television, for opera and dance. The Westbrook Song Book aims to publish on-line sheet music of songs selected from each of these projects.
