Il forzato trasferimento non fermerà, se non temporaneamente, le attività dell'Iklectik londinese e del suo tenace staff di gestione, da una decina d'anni uno dei luoghi sociali più attivi e creativi in città nell'ambito delle musiche e delle arti indipendenti. Prendono il via oggi e dureranno fin quasi a fine mese le iniziative del lungo addio alla gloriosa sede dell'Old Paradise Yard a Waterloo, certamente con rammarico ma con il più promettente dei proclami: This Is Not The End.
"After months of spirited campaigning against the demolition and development of our home at Old Paradise Yard, we must announce that we will be evicted from our beloved space at the end of January 2024. We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who supported us and our community throughout these challenging months. In the lead-up to our venue’s closure on 24th January, we invite you to join us for a series of closing events, each a takeover of Iklectik by a different organiser with a special lineup. This will culminate in a huge party to say a massive thanks to all of you for making the Iklectik community what it is today. Although we are devastated to be losing our venue, we are also enormously proud of everything we've achieved together. Over the past ten years, our community has become the lifeblood of Iklectik and we cannot wait to come together in the New Year to celebrate just how far we've come. Because this is not the end, it's the beginning of a new sonic chapter. We know that we are so much more than a venue. Iklectik, as an organisation, is not fading away. We are actively working on our next steps and cannot wait to unveil our exciting plans to you all. Your continued support is the driving force that will propel us into 2024 and beyond."
