Westport Sound is a new weekend event. Way Out Westport is a monthly music night. Both are held and based at The Three Cups Inn in the historic and very lovely town of Malmesbury, Wiltshire, England. The events came out of conversations between Janinka Diverio & Richard Wiltshire who were both friends of the late Keith Tippett. The original ethos for the event was to, in some way, keep Keith’s influence alive in our home town but has since become about offering opportunities to artists and audiences to experience contemporary music, jazz, improv and electronica. Many of the artists from the Bristol scene and beyond have collaborated with Keith and have been inspired by him and his memory and spirit will weave its way through our events and programming. Janinka and Richard are joined by Chris Albury (previous co manager for Keith Tippett) along with Benny Dart (Bristol based music promoter, record vendor and Malmesbury boy) and Gary Nagev (ayeaye media) who takes care of our website and media. Janinka used to co run Mind Your Own Music with Chris Albury working with Keith, Mike Westbrook and Satoko Fujii. Richard Wiltshire is a life long friend of the Tippett’ family, avant garde music aficionado and supporter of the alternative arts.
