The Bay Area's biggest celebration of creativity and critical thought is back at the San Francisco Public Library's Main Branch. This year's event brings together an array of local cultural organizations, leading thinkers and artists to contemplate a future for city life that is more just, culturally vibrant, and sustainable. Philosophical debates, talks, performances, screenings and more encourage attendees to engage together around the pressing issues of our day while also celebrating the city’s vibrant culture and heritage. A global event, invites leading thinkers, scientists, writers, activists, and artists to engage with the theme Faultlines / Outside the Lines centering urban life and development and raising questions about the impact of climate change, new technologies, and social and cultural shifts. This year’s event also offers a heavy dose of civic pride to counter the negative-news blues with programs that are solution-focused and that celebrate the city’s natural wonders, cuisine, and unique history.
