Sorride un poco all'idea di aver già raggiunto il culmine della carriera - il prossimo album dei Pere Ubu potrebbe comunque andarci vicino, dice - ma sotto sotto David Thomas è soddisfatto di quanto scrive (e in parte sottintende) Erin Margaret Day nell'analisi discografica consegnata a Bandcamp intitolata The Cup, the Dream, and the Tin Can: 50 Years of Music from David Thomas. Così come torna a dirsi estremamente soddisfatto del concerto con i two pale boys da noi a Schio (Vi) nel 2004, anche alla luce dei commenti e delle richieste ottenute dopo la sua recente pubblicazione come I'm Alive! appunto su Bandcamp: "It is, of course, a pleasure to have a 'Lifetime Achievement' article published that has obviously been highly considered by Erin. The bigger question remains - have I achieved what I wanted to in this lifetime? Maybe the new album inches to near completion. Maybe it is completion. Maybe, if that is the case, now is the time to hang up my hat and say 'job done'. But I'd soon be reaching for that hat again. What else am I gonna do?"
